The long stylish stem has a stylish ball of small flowers. Some variants are somewhat modest, some make a big statement in your vase. Colored from white to purple and blue. There are about 300 different varieties and almost all of them bloom in the summer. The Allium Giganteum is the largest variety. The purple flower collections can have a diameter of no less than 15 cm of pure luck.

SYMBOLISM
Onions have a high superstition value. The strongly scented species were especially liked to keep disaster, diseases and witches at bay. A braided strand kept everything out. The Allium victorialis stood for invulnerability and victory. In Germany this variant is called 'Allermannsharnisch', which means the armor for the common man. With the Egyptians, the onions were often depicted on graves, because the layers of the onion were the symbol of eternity.

ORIGIN
Allium belongs to a plant genus of the garlic family. The plants grow in temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere and some species can grow up to 1.5 meters in length. With the Romans, the word allium was initially only used for garlic, but later it became the genus name for all garlic crops. Chives and leeks also belong to the genus.
